In my book the new character is suffering from anorexia. She goes from being the quiet girl, and emerges as this new popular girl. Being popular drives her to extremes involving relationships, love, and her body (meaning she becomes anorexic). On this website I learned about some of the psychological factors of anorexia. The website said that anorexics may be categorized as the people who seem like they have it all together, straight A's, good family, they do what they are told, and try to make other people happy. However they really do not have it all together, they want to be perfect and if they can't be then they consider themselves a failure. Overall, I feel like this is more of a stereotype because I have some of these signs, and i am not anorexic. This book was very interesting to me because it showed the complete transformation of a girl. Anorexia just played a part in it.

WIld Child Reflection
Watching Wild Child was very frightening to me. I did not understand how a family could just lock their child up in a room for 13 years. The father claimed she was mentally disabled since birth, but how would he be able to tell? Or why couldn't he look into adoption? Anyway, the interesting part was learning about how they were teaching her to try to make her become "normal". It is a shame that the teachings were working, and then the funds were cut. When the funds were cut, it sort of eliminated chances of normalizing her. It was also disturbing to hear that some of her foster parents were abusive and unhelpful. It is a shame that happened because it would have been interesting to see if she could learn everything she missed. Two of my biggest questions were, what is the mind's deadline for being able to acquire basic knowledge, and did Genie have the ability to feel the emotions of love or friendship. I questioned that because Genie moved around a lot, and I thought they should gave given her a stable full-time family, since that is what she missed out on as a child. Overall, I experienced different ideas from watching the documentary, it was very interesting.
